Born and raised in New York, a native to the east end of Long Island, Shay is a Young Adult author with two upcoming novels.  With an MFA in Writing from Sarah Lawrence College, Shay has been featured in numerous literary journals for her short stories and poems. She received a BA in English from Tulane University where she was also a member of the Women's Tennis Team. 

Shay has worked with bestselling authors including Patricia McCormick, Cynthia Hand, and Brian Morton, among others. She is a member of the SCBWI and Poets & Writers database. Shay has a variety of interests including reading, exploring nature, stand-up paddleboard, autumn, fashion, pure barre workouts, volunteering at the local animal shelter, drinking soy lattes, and the nineties grunge scene. 


I have always been very quiet and introverted. Diagnosed “selective mute” at age seven, I found my voice through writing. This is the platform where I can truly express myself.
